ISTE Speaker Series Event: Blue Skies: Education in Second Life
Speaker: Cyrus Hush (RL: Matthew Poole)
As a project, Cyrus Hush created a small campus on the Second Life mainland for the University of Alabama’s Institute for Interactive Technology and wrote about his experiences. He has subsequently conducted SL classes with adult learners in both undergraduate and graduate programs from different colleges. In this session he discusses tips, tricks, what works and what doesn’t for small schools or individual instructors with limited budgets (read zero!) wanting to start using SL in hybrid/traditional or wholly online classroom settings.
