An attentive class!
The class heads outside to eat lunch at the Crest Center, on the first sunny day in a string of rainy ones.
The Crest Center provided a delicious lunch of taco bowls, including a meat filling and a bean/corn vegetarian option. For dessert, they offered homemade banana pudding and fruit.
Two class members speak with Sarah Benoit during lunch to answer some follow-up questions.
The class steps outside after lunch to do an icebreaker and a sleep-prevention technique for those mid-day, post-lunch sleepy feelings.
The icebreaker was called "Concentric Circles," and it gave the class members a chance to get to know one another by asking various questions while rotating among their classmates.
Dan Pierce, a UNCA professor, speaks to the class about the history of Asheville.
A misty and foggy morning welcomes the class into the Pavillion at The Crest Center, but the sunlight eventually peeks through.
Britt Lippard welcomes class members to Day 2 of the opening retreat.
The group socializes during breakfast on Day 2.

Coffee is a popular choice among LA 28 classmates.
The day begins with an icebreaker called "All My Neighbors," which got everybody moving and laughing!
"Very casual" meant something different to everyone, as evident by a wide variety of shoe choices.
Gerry shares a presentation.
Patti Digh joins us for a presentation and thoughts about how to live & lead more intentionally.
"Leave your attachment from your tables."
"Ah, much better. We are now in an oval that is pretending to be a circle."
"Celebrate your challenges."
The following photos are "snapshots of personality"... after leaving behind their tables, they left a little part of themselves. These are some of the images captured.
(That is actually a real coffee mug, made to look like the to-go kind they give you.)
