12th May 2012 - Hong Gong Corporate Day Trip

Jackson and his colleagues came to Kota Kinabalu this weekend for a company trip from Hong Kong. On Saturday 31 of them joined Borneo Dream for a day trip to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park located nearby KK, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They enjoyed guided snorkeling (PADI Discover Snorkelin g Experience, try dives (PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience) and fast RIB Rides. Our three boats - Borneo Dream 3, Borneo Dream Betty and our RIB were allocated to Jackson and his group. They had a fun day out and saw lots underwater as well as enjoyed some beach time. This is the second corporate trio by Jackson and his company from Hong Kong. 11th May 2012 - Friday is for Diving :)

I joined our customers for a scuba diving trip with Borneo Dream to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We have customers learning to dive via the PADI Open Water Diver course, as well as leisure divers. The weather was beautiful with stunning blue skies. There was little current on both dives with ~ 10m vis. Although the vis was not as good as normally can be it didn't stop us having two wonderful, long dives. We saw large schools of Yellow Snapper, Scorpion Fish, Large Puffer Fish, various Nudibranches, Lion Fish, Porcelain Crabs and lots more. We also watched a juvenile Hawksbill Turtle for ~ 10 minutes as it rested peacefully under a Table Coral. 9th May 2012 - Snorkeling in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park

Rudy and his friends from Brunei joined Borneo Dream for a day of snorkeling in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They joined a PADI Discover Snorkeling Experience and had a snorkeling and skin diving skills session as well as two guided snorkeling tours around shallow reefs near Pulau Sapi. Whilst Billy and I run a scuba diving business in KK, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (AKA Borneo Dream) it's not ofte that we get the chance to go scuba diving together (AKA 'love diving'). On Sunday we were both working in the office, the weather was stunning so Billy made the tempting offer of going out to join the afternoon dive with our customers in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. 28th April 2012 - Scuba diving at Pulau Tiga, Sabah

I joined a scuba diving trip to Pulau Tiga with Borneo Dream customers and crew. Pulau Tiga is 30nm south west of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and was a 1.5 hour cruise down on our catamaran, Borneo Dream 3. We dived two very pretty, and lively, coral reef dive sites. The first dive sites is also home to large boulders and coral pinnacles and teeming with fish life. Our customers were I think suitably impressed by the quality of the dive sites and now want to dive our other offshore dive site - Mayne Rock. I joined our customers for some diving today in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo. The day started off with a fast RIB Ride transfer to the islands. February 2012 - MRF Turtle Research at Mantanani

At Borneo Dream we like to do our bit in supporting local marine conservation efforts. As part of this two Borneo Dream Girls - Edrie & Ann - recently spent 6 days near Pulau Mantanani supporting a team led by Dr Nick Pilcher from Marine Research Foundation (www.mrf-asia.org) in conducting much needed Turtle research. The team also included representatives and support from Camp Borneo and Scubazoo. Nick, a leading world expect in Turtle research, has been conducting turtle research around the waters of Mantanani over several years. This includes satellite tagging, tagging and collecting data via laparoscopy to monitor the turtle population at an important feeding / resting ground for juvenile turtles near Mantanani. 4th February 2012 - Whale Shark in TARP

Yesterday Dan, one of our PADI Instructors came back from a Borneo Dream diving trip to TARP having swam with a juvenile Whale Shark (~3 - 4m) during a surface interval. This morning our customers on our two boats came across a larger ~6m Whale Shark peacefully feeding near our first dive site for the day. Our customers onboard watched on to see their first ever Whale Shark encounter. 11th January 2012 - Releasing Pygmy Killer Whale

A Pygmy Killer Whale was found beached at Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort on Tuesday. Andrew Steele, The Resort General Manager, called in for support from a local expert Lindsay Porter to oversea the rescue of 'Tony' as the whale affectionately became known. A whole host of volunteers came forward to keep Tony safe and alive until he was well enough to be released in to deeper waters. Scubazoo volunteered their time to document the rescue effort. At Borneo Dream we did our bit to support the safe release of the Pygmy Killer Whale - we sent a PADI Instructor, James, as a volunteer to help keep the whale alive and we provided Borneo Dream 3, and our crew, to carry the Pygmy Killer Whale safely to deeper waters yesterday late afternoon. Well done to everyone involved in this rescue effort. 2nd November 2011 - Gaya Wreck on Rebreathers

Chris & Billy went scuba diving the deep WW2 Gaya Wreck this morning. The long wreck lies between 35m - 50m. The boys enjoyed visibility of ~ 30m between 5m - 35m. The bottom 15m had been stirred up by the current so the vis on the wreck itself was a lot less. They still bumped into schoolimg Jacks, and the wreck :).
