Hori Compact Joystick modded with DB-25 cable.
The DB-25 cable connects to my Madcatz Arcade Stick PCB housed in a project box.
The project box (older picture). It now has a momentary pushbutton for turbo on/off.
Madcatz Arcade Stick PCB - triggers working as analog by placing two 10k resistors on the potentiometer connections.
The Hori Compact Joystick is used for both the Xbox 360 and the PC (via a Dual Joy adapter that I bought from the now defunct Lik Sang).
Sanwa parts installed in FedEx box for layout test.
This size and layout is pretty comfortable.
A flap has been cut out in the back for access to the connections.
Close up of the inside.
Even closer, note that I've written the joystick pin info for reference (from top to bottomL U D R L G).
Layout test 2 - sized for PT-10 panel and also testing two different row configurations
Pactec PT-10 enclosure (PC bone color - not white)
Pactec PT-10 with Sanwa stick and buttons installed (transitioning layout for buttons, used by Hori)
Open back of the PT-10 for testing - still need to drill back panel for the RJ-45 jack and Xbox 360 guide, start and back buttons.
RJ-45 jack used to connect USB (so that it can be dual-modded later for a PSX/PS2 cable (7 wires needed for the PSX/PS2 vs 4 for USB)
PT-10 spray painted white using Rust-Oleum Specialty Paint For Plastic Spray.
The Sanwa stick has been adjusted to the correct height by adding in my custom spacer that I made by cutting and drilling a cheap Ikea cutting board. Also, the inside of the metal faceplate has been lined with an adhesive kitchen drawer/shelf liner (note the nice pattern) to prevent accidental short circuits.
I split individual strands of a Parlex 28 position flex cable, and soldered them onto a blank PC board. I think this is the best way to access the Sony BD remote control PCB.
Pretty sure I'm the first to post a pic of a working Sony BD remote control hack to make a wireless joystick for the PS3. I just need to make a compact battery compartment instead of using the remote controller case. It still manages to cram all into the Pactec PT-10 enclosure, though.
Testing simultaneous inputs with Seimitsu PS-14-GN 30mm Pushbuttons on the punch inputs of the BD remote stick. These buttons (which are known to be less sensitive than Sanwa buttons) improved the likelihood of an Ultra Combo coming out!
Mad Catz Street Fighter IV FightStick - Tournament Edition; Truly, the best stick I've ever used.
