OVCX Kings Cross 2010
This was my very first real, sanctioned race-where-you-get-a-number-and-everything ... EVAR. I think I came in DFL in my entire group, but I finished, which means I met my goals: 1) do not die, 2) finish race, 3) do not embarrass team too badly. Since I didn't manage to screw up the start (I was in front because I registered early, but soon wound up near the back of the pack), I'm pretty sure I fulfilled criterion #3 just fine.
This was a pretty tough course -- lots of short, steep climbs. Swift was not happy about being a 'cross bike, which kind of surprised me. I had shifting issues, which meant I wound up running the biggest climb the last three laps. D'oh.
I think I did okay for a first effort. Everyone there was awesome and super-nice!
