First phase of the 'diff fitting'. There are some chassis rails that are going to either have to be modified or moved especially the one bottom right as you look at it.
Deeper view of the first frame. So far all the figurin and ponderin has paid off. The diff is pretty much where its supposed to be according to the drawing.
See what I mean by a clash of bottom chassis rail and new bit of metal. Bear in mind the new metal was made for a 'C' type Jag replica.
You can virtual see how much that rail has to be moved or stepped back. Fortunaelt is sits under the boot floor.
The front end of the new plate will need a skid plate fitted. As to it being lower than the original, well its not by much and the exhausts used to hang even lower. Now they are going to run down the sides. So plenty of room underneath. Fingers crossed.
See the gap between the body and the rail. Thats how much it still needs to sit down. It also has to go forward by about the same amount. I might have to do a whole heap of glassfibre cutting to get it to move in both directions.
Thats the gap looking toward the rear, from under the rear wheel arch.
