Opening to Scout Cave. Never could have found it had our cabin neighbor not shown us the location. An easy one mile hike from the Diamond Point fire tower.
Not what I expected the entrance to a large cave to look like.
Marrec signing the register. Date, time, and number in party...just in case something unexpected happens authorities would know who and how many to look for.
Off to a new adventure...spelunking.
Greg checking the way.
Heather, Caden, Marrec and Greg heading into the darkness.
Caden and Marrec leading the way. Lots of color in cave. Shame some people mark up the walls in such a splendid place.
Living cave walls growing and changing.
From here the channel shrinks to a small tunnel. I tried crawling through, but good sense, claustrophobia, and fear prevailed. Greg and the boys forged on to a small chamber and another tunnel that led back around to a window opening to the main chamber. Only Marrec was able to negotiate the window. Greg and Caden had to retrace their steps.
Steep climb up a mud wall at the south end of the main chamber leads to a medium sized secondary chamber.
Exploring the secondary chamber.
Main chamber south to north. Two second exposure hand held.

Heather and Marrec heading out.
Caden and Marrec, our fearless adventurers.
Back at Diamond Point, Heather and Greg with their beloved '85 Bronco. They have spent the last five years making it into a go anywhere vehicle.
