The first snow of February dumped 8" on Powell. All was serene.
Two days later, five more inches.
The magnolia is suffering under the weight.
This lilac shrub usually stands well over twelve feet tall. I don't know if it will recover.
The snow blower was worth its weight in gold.
The snow is over 17" deep now. The drive is 100' long and there were many days when we had to clear it 2-3 times a day.
The freeze-thaw cycle in is high gear and the icicles grow.
The mailman won't deliver if he can't get to the mailbox.
The view into the back yard is getting more difficult. The icicle in the center is over five feet long.
This monster icicle is over seven feet long and reaches into the snow pile on the deck.
Two visitors to our yard. These are two of a herd of seven. The largest herd we have seen was fourteen. Pretty amazing since we live right in the city of Powell. There is a wooded tree line, maybe 100' wide, between us and the next development. It harbors all sorts of wildlife. Once we were having a cookout and a possum waddled up on the deck to check out the action.
