Bill Williams ('54) brought his historical fire truck to the gathering. A fire chief always wears his hat.
This is one handsome set of wheels! It is a 1922 REO SPEEDWAGON PUMPER, with the original 4-cylinder engine. It is the only one known to exist. Bill has owned it since 1979.
It was restored by Robert Nist of Delaware, Ohio, in Bill's shop, at a cost of $16,000. It is owned by Wms Insurance Agency.
Striping and lettering is 23-carat Italian gold leaf.
This machine is available for fires by appointment only.
It is registered with the SPAMMFA international fire apparatus preservation society.
This is a real treasure.
