Looking down at Yosemite Valley
El Captain!
More El Cap. This is the spot where Kirk fell off the wall, but Spock saved him with his rocket boots. Then Kirk told him that he knew he wasn't going to die because he's always known he would die alone. Then Kirk goes on to die in Picard's hands.... not that I'm bitter.
Hlaf Dome
Looking south from Glacier Point.
Half Dome and Storm
Scary.
Rainbow
Cool peaks bathed in sunrise as viewed from our first campsite.
We couldn't find denatured alcohol anywhere, so we were forced to cool over a fire. Old school style.
Our first campsite
Cool rock.
Our second campsite. We had hoped to camp up high, but a thunderstorm changed those plans. This was the morning after.
Heading into the Clark Range.
Full view of the Clark Range.
This is not a trail
We were running short on time so we tried a bushwhack to cut down on some of the distance.
Red Peak
Near the top of an unnamed pass.
This was where I had hoped to bushwhack. While it might have been possible, it would have been trecherous.
Notice how steep that slope is. We would have had to scramble DOWN from here. Or climb up to Red Peak.
Cool bright red moss coming down from our Clark Range failed bushwhack.
Fourth day - hiking down to the valley. We passed by several of these cool domes.
One of my favorite places on the trip. Maybe we should carve some president's faces up there?
I had an unexplained fasination with this dome.
View from our lunch spot deep into Yosemite Nation Park.
Heading all the way down into the valley. We needed to climb way down.
Waterfall and spectators.
The wind kicked up and blew the waterfall sideways!
