Bobby's Finish Carpentry work. Columns and Railing, TEAK
Teak 11 1/2inch Columns. 8' Tall, complex as heck installation, 4- 6"x6"s milled and splined together to wrap steel support columns. We chamfer the 4 outer edges and V-Chamfer the inner joints as well. Each column gets 16 Butterfly Inlays as well. 30 Columns on this home,(you do the math) that is alot of BUTTERFLIES INLAYED!! The handrails are just as complex, doulbe tenons, set-in to Teak columns. The pickets are going to be evencrazier....My partner Timmy and I are having fun and building something that will last a long, long time. These things weigh a ton as well....Bobby. Oh yeah, the columns that are up are still temporarily up, we have to load the upper and lower railings and pickets and slip it all together as one piece... the beams are not all glued up completely yet, just the back halves.
