KAILASH MANASAROVAR YATRA 2011.
-Known for its religious value, cultural significance, physical beuty & thrilling nature, Kailash Manasarovar yatra is undertaken by thousands of people every year.
-Holding significance for the Hindus as the abode of LORD SHIVA, it holds religious importance also for the Jains and the Buddhists,
-Government of India (Ministry of External Affais) organizes Kailash Manasarovar yatra every year from June to September.
-The Yatra is undertaken in 16 batches, each consisting of a maximum of 60 pilgrims. Age limit is from 18 years to 70 years.
-The duration of the Yatra is 27 days (from New Delhi to New Delhi). In addition, Yatris will need to spend 3 days in New Delhi to obtain visas, undergo a comprehensive medical examination and complete financial formalities.
-Yatra is extremely arduous, involves trekking at high altitudes upto 19,500 feet, under inhospitable conditions including extreme cold and rugged terrain.
