An attempt at an Arty shot with the sun poking through the Arch
One of the majestic carvings on the side....
...And another one
Three loiterers!
Ground view down to the Louvre
It's that tower again!
Anvers in Montmartre, one of the few remaining Art Deco Metro signs left in Paris.
Street shot up to the Sacre Couer
First full view....
...Half way up the stairs...
...where you find a fountain!
View from the top - unfortunately obscured by haze
The Pantheon of Paris
Close up of the statue of Christ that stands over the main door of the church.
One of the knights set on the massive porch
A smaller church beside the Sacre Couer
A view from where the funicular railway ends.
The tower again!
Gargoyle!
The back of the Sacre Couer
A street in Montmartre - souvenir shops are unavoidable here.
A little park with what looks like a little chapel in it.
This house featured in my holiday photos when I was last in Paris - it looks far better in the sunshine!
A rather drab looking Moulin Rouge
View to the Place de la Concorde over the Seine
The National Assembly building - beats the 'bus shelter' any day!
The Musee D'orsay - once a railway station, but now houses the more modern art that doesn't fit in the Louvre.
The Louvre, from the Musee D'orsay
The Louvre from across the river.
The Ile de Cite - with the buildings around the Palais de Justice
Can't remember what building this carving was attached too, but it looked nice!
The Notre Dame
Full view of the front.
Statue of Charlamange
The statue in front of the rose window that stands over the main door.
The main door of the church.
Joan of Arc
The rose window in one of the transepts.
This was in one of the chapels that line the cathedral around the choir and the high altar.
The rose window in the other transept.
The Stained Glass at the back of the church.
What little that you can see of the Rose Window that faces the front - it is obscured by the magnificent Organ pipes.
View down the nave
A side view
The Palais De Justice
This is the entrance to St Chapelle - having queued for security for about 10 to 15 minutes, the crowds disappeared by the time I got here - no idea where they went!
The lower level of the chapel is rather dark and uninteresting, this is what you actually come to see.
The upper doors of the chapel
There is, virtually, wall to wall stained glass here - although it looks better when the sun is shining.
Each window is guarded by what looks like a saint of some kind.
even the alcoves below the main windows have little stained glass panes in them.
The Rose window at the front of the chapel. Unfortunately the high altar was being restored, so there is no opposite view.
More windows...
And more!
The last shot as I was leaving - but a man walked into it!
So I tried again!
The lower level of the chapel - which houses the souvenir shop.
Even here there is some stained glass.
A closer view.
Now, you thought Deely-boppers were an eighties phenomenon - but here the Virgin Mary shows that they were a much older craze!
There are also some nice relief carvings downstairs, but as I was leaving the sun came out.
So I rushed back upstairs again, and this is the result.
The window's come to life when the sun shines!
The colours here are so vibrant it is hard to believe just how old they actually are.
A photo of a second carving as I actually left this time!
The Palais de Justice from within the gates.
This is the outside of St Chappelle - showing signs of the restoration within.
On the Bateau Parisienne - waiting to cast off for our dinner cruise.
Waiting for our dinner!
The Musee D'orsay from the river - from then on the food came so we lost interest in taking photos!
The Eiffel Tower at night
A close up as we sail towards it.
And another as we approach the dock.
This is a little fountain in a park that sits beside the Champs Elysees lower down, once you leave the shops behind.
