following pictures of rhea legs and skinning and mounting process, bone is taken out ,a foam copy is carved skin is boraxed and foam is glued ,then sewn and toes are injected then posed .This will be a running rhea mount

and here it is carved all that shrinkage and grease is not a worry now
yes I know darn fuzzy pictures ,but here is the sewing process started
and here it is completely stitched up this bird will have a heavy rod inserted into foam after drying ,The mount will be suspended off the floor in a running pose
the red is 2 part epoxy putty ,after hardening I airbrushed the feathe quill was used to impress detail back nto the puttied area!
the completed mount [rhea] the little ''hump'' on the back are scapularie feathers raised up ,the wings are slightly spread when running to balance the bird
hanging now because of lack of room ,plus it allows air circulation to dry him better
