Street entertainers the Grand Theatre of Lemmings, whose appearance was sponsored by Kennet Shopping, were a big hit. (As was their camel!)
No parade would be complete without Brian Sylvester, our excellent Town Crier. This year he was accompanied at the head of the parade by his grandchildren, in fancy dress.
There were nine lorries in this year's parade and we're always very grateful to their owners and drivers who support the event so generously. This is the Winchcombe Schools' entry - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
This is the Pageant float. Pageant, who hire fancy dress, have enthusiastically supported the carnival for many years. As usual, they put a lot of hard work into their float and won the 'business' category jointly with Newbury Town Council.
Marilyn Monroe was very popular with the crowd.
Stiltwalkers Pip and Pop
Burghclere Pre-School and Toddler Group's wonderful 101 Dalmations float won the overall prize, although it was very difficult for the judges to choose between so many excellent entries.
The Winchombe Schools Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory float won a prize for the best school float.
