Note the mandatory beer bottle on ground near center with the open pit mine behind me. This tradition may have started with stagecoach drivers on the Butterfield Route about 50 miles south of here. Later, early airplane pilots used the reflections of the glass along the trail to find their way to California. Perhaps this is a continuation of that tradition? Actually this beer bottle is pointing toward Silver City. So even if your GPS dies and you lose your map and cue sheets, no problema. Just follow the litter.
